Pitman, outreach and community coordinator for the United Way of Southwest Alabama, the University was unanimously selected by the awards committee because of its dedicated work and generous campaign.

鈥淯nited Way honors its volunteers because their engagement is critical to our success, Pitman said. 鈥淲e estimate that last year alone, the work of our volunteers was valued at more than half a million dollars. Money that United Way and its partners can invest in programs and services that meet our communities鈥� needs.鈥�
