South Students Ready to "Be Jag Healthy"

The sixth annual 鈥淏e Jag Healthy鈥 Jag Health and Wellness Day will take place from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Student Health Center at 5870 Alumni Drive.

Students will be encouraged to live a healthy lifestyle at the University of South Alabama Student Health Center鈥檚 sixth annual 鈥淏e Jag Healthy鈥 Jag Health and Wellness Day from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Student Health Center at 5870 Alumni Drive. All students are invited.

鈥淲e want our students to have a well-rounded college experience by maintaining a healthy mind and body, and we are providing a day of fun and education for all students on health and wellness,鈥 said Beverly Kellen, director of operations. 鈥淲e appreciate and thank all of our sponsors and partners for supporting this important awareness event.鈥

Students can take one of the blue route JagTran buses to ride to the Be Jag Healthy event. They should request drop off at the Student Health Center and load at one of the Student Center JagTran stops to get back to campus residential areas.

Various University and community partners are collaborating with the Student Health Center to sponsor this event. They are LabCorp, Aramark, Franklin Primary, Lions International, South Alabama College of Nursing, Pat Capps Covey College of Allied of Health Professions, Internal Medicine, Student Affairs, Counseling and Testing Services, 新澳门六合彩开奖记录 Housing, 新澳门六合彩开奖记录 Dining, Student Government Association, Jag Health Team, Campus Recreation, Physician Assistant Studies, Faculty Senate, Mobile County Health Department, Active Minds, 新澳门六合彩开奖记录 Bookstore, 新澳门六合彩开奖记录 Athletics, Student Disability Services, 新澳门六合彩开奖记录 Veteran Affairs and Abeneefoo Kuo Honor Society.

Students will receive free food, T-shirts, giveaways, flu shots, STD and other health screenings as well as learn about health insurance and immunizations. The South Alabama cheerleaders and mascots will greet students. The students will be invited to tour the center along with meeting the experienced Student Health Center staff. Student nurses, physician assistants and medical residents will assist the professional medical staff during the Be Jag Healthy event.
