More than 1,780 current and retired 新澳门六合彩开奖记录 employees gave to this year鈥檚 campaign, which provides funding to 46 health and human service organizations in Choctaw, Clarke, Mobile and Washington counties to address key social issues in the areas of health, education and financial stability.
Dr. Alvin J. Williams, interim dean of the Mitchell College of Business, Susan Sansing, associate dean of finance and administration in the College of Medicine and Tommie Carlisle, retired 新澳门六合彩开奖记录 Health employee, served as this year鈥檚 新澳门六合彩开奖记录 United Way Campaign co-chairs. Additionally, 172 新澳门六合彩开奖记录 and 新澳门六合彩开奖记录 Health employees served as campaign representatives within individual departments.
鈥淯nited Way of Southwest Alabama provides solutions for high-need individuals and families in our community and has a tremendous positive impact on the entire region,鈥 said Williams. 鈥淭he 新澳门六合彩开奖记录 family has been a strong contributor to this campaign for many years, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to give back in this way.鈥
Since 1998, the University and 新澳门六合彩开奖记录 Health have raised more than $5.7 million for the United Way of Southwest Alabama through its annual campaign.
Jill Chenoweth, president of United Way of Southwest Alabama, emphasized the importance of the 新澳门六合彩开奖记录-UWSWA partnership. 鈥淒onations from the 新澳门六合彩开奖记录 employee campaign have benefits that ripple out to the community as a whole, helping others and strengthening the community,鈥 Chenoweth said. 鈥淔or every dollar donated, United Way is able to provide $11 worth of programs and services to the community.鈥
